What is a Pure Sequence in Rummy

A pure sequence is the only group that cannot hold a joker. Indian rummy treats it as the ticket to declare. Miss it and every other pretty set still dumps points.

Shape3+ cards, one suit, consecutive.
JokerNot allowed in this run.
AceA-2-3 or Q-K-A, not K-A-2.

What it looks like

5-6-7 of hearts. 10-J-Q of spades. No printed joker, no wild joker. Three cards is enough. Longer is safer if the rest of the hand still groups.

Why the table cares

A valid show needs two sequences, and one of them must be this run. Apps check the groups when you tap declare. A joker in the 'pure' run is an invalid show.

Build it first

Do not spend the wild joker on a set while this run is still open. The finish pure sequence first note is the sit habit.
