Face Cards Points in Rummy

Jack, queen, king and ace are 10 points each when they are not in a valid group. Three loose face cards is already 30 — close to a middle drop. That is why they leave the tray early if they have no home.

J Q K A10 each ungrouped.
2–10Pip value.
Grouped0 for that group.

Throw without a seed

A singleton king with no second king and no Q-K-A path is trash by turn two. Discard high cards early.

Keep with a path

K-Q of the same suit is a high-run seed. Keep. Add joker only after a different pure sequence exists.

On pool

Those 10s still stack toward 101. Face cards are how 101 seats die in two dumps.
